Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a child she was enrolled in at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. From the age of six Emma was aware that she wanted to be an actress and for several years, she was a student at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned performing and singing. When she was ten, she had appeared and played part in many Stagecoach shows and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie adaptation to J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was first cast for the very first time back in the year 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma by way of her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been selected for the parts. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. The film is 2001's top production, and it broke records at the opening and first weekend. The film was praised by critics and its performances by the three young stars. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma's performance received nominations and was awarded five awards in the film.
